LASIK Over 40's

One of the most controversial topic on LASIK procedure is LASIK over 40's. The simple reason is because as we age, our eyes will experience couple of conditions.(Presbyopia and Cataracts)
Presbyopia, the normal aging change of the internal near focusing structures of the eye, naturally causes people to need reading glasses in their 40's or 50's and cataracts is the opacification of our natural intraocular lens, where you start lossing the perception of color and brightness.
But most people start experiencing presbyopia first, and is here when the potential patient start searching options to avoid the reading glasses.
Here is when MONOVISION appear, because monovision is an option to avoid reading glasses and it work in a manner of under-correct one eye in order to help reading vision. This involves giving up a little distance sharpness and some peripheral vision.
But the all pictures is that MONOVISION is already obsolete, because while other countries are treating presbyopia, means they don't have to giving up a little distance sharpness and some peripheral vision, we still offering Monovision.
If you are one of those who is looking for monovision, be aware that is matter of time that we will have in the U.S Presbyopia treatment soon, so be patient and wait until arrive.
